ExxonMobil assumes operatorship of Papua LNG

ExxonMobil PNG Antelope Limited has assumed operatorship of the Papua LNG Project, effective October 16, 2026, following an agreement between the project’s co-venturers. TotalEnergies had served as operator since March 2015, leading the project’s development through October 15, 2026.

ExxonMobil will work with TotalEnergies, Santos and ENEOS Xplora, alongside national and provincial authorities and local communities, to advance the project safely and responsibly. The partners remain focused on reaching a final investment decision later this year.
